Fernanda Ferrell-Zabala, born in Quito, Ecuador, is a devoted mother of four children and three energetic dogs, splitting her time between Florida and Washington, DC. Her diverse background includes over 15 years as an Aerospace Engineer at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, where she honed her problem-solving skills. Currently, Fernanda serves as the Branding and Marketing Manager for her family's hurricane protection business, leading rebranding and strategic efforts. She is also dedicated to advocacy, particularly in promoting equity and combating injustice.
Fernanda’s passion for community and kindness inspired her to write Rosie and the Hurricane, and she is currently working on three more children’s books. Additionally, she volunteers to educate and inspire Black and Brown girls in STEM. Her expertise spans virtual event production, strategic planning, marketing, and more, enabling her to tackle challenges with an innovative mindset, always seeking to inspire and make a difference in the world.
